The
Aquatic Systems Mosquito Education (ASME) program is provided
through the collaboration of the Lee County Mosquito Control
District, the School District of Lee County, and Florida Gulf Coast
University. Programs are designed for kindergarten, fifth, seventh,
and high school chemistry and biology classes and support Florida's
Sunshine State Standards in a variety of areas. Films, readings,
slide programs, discussions, art activities and lab experiences are
utilized to teach the objectives of each unit. In addition, ASME
instructors are active with local, state and national committees
devoted to mosquito control and environmental education.
